Did a quick unbox and carved out a tiny corner of my space to start staging everything. This is officially the beginning of the build!
For the first phase, I’m keeping things intentionally simple and solid:
- Get everything unboxed and inventoried
- Install the OS on the Orange Pi
- Bring up basic networking so all devices can see each other
- Make sure the cameras and edge box are happily talking on a local-only network
Nothing fancy yet—this is all about building a clean, reliable foundation before layering on models, triggers, and logic.
I’ll be documenting the process as I go with short posts like this, and I’ll also be spinning up a GitHub repo soon to capture setup steps, configs, and lessons learned along the way.
Excited to finally get hands-on and start turning this pile of hardware into something alive. More soon 🚀
