NEMA MedBot – Edge Identity Workflow with Metis 2 Acceleration Roadmap

We are presenting the current prototype of NEMA MedBot / Mickey Robot developed by AtomC.
This stage validates a fully on-device identity recognition pipeline running on Orange Pi hardware. The system performs real-time acquisition, local inference and dashboard update without any cloud dependency.
The architecture has been designed to integrate Axelera Metis® 2 as the dedicated hardware acceleration layer for inference stages. The current prototype confirms end-to-end workflow stability and modular separation of perception and orchestration layers.
Next steps include progressive offloading of supported inference blocks to Metis 2 via the Voyager toolchain, enabling reduced latency, deterministic performance and scalable multi-model deployment.
The project is part of an ongoing commercial R&D initiative targeting healthcare and posture analysis environments, with clinical validation planned in collaboration with a medical partner in the province of Brescia.
