So I’m thrilled to share I finally finished the project!!! Here’s a video showcasing the Cobot preforming the weld with the safety killswitch working, the addition of a canny filtered screen which works as a safety lense for eye protection when welding which also highlights for you the weld joint, I also added a video of a side project I was working on for fun which is a manual mode in the program, when we press M the robot is instead controlled by a remote controller mini Cobot I designed which the actual Cobot mimics very smoothly and precisely for any complex shaped joints as you can see in the videos, enjoy!!

The visual “kill switch” is just such an inspired idea - this could be built into pretty much any power tool or machinery in almost any application!

Thank you so much spanner, hopefully it does. I’ve worked with technicians with way too many stories about accidents that involve a machine accidentally turning on while someone’s  hand is close .Hopefully this could be applied and potentially save lives in the future.

I think it could, because as much as the AI system is inherently complex, once in place it’s operation is actually significantly simpler than more mechanical methods such as holding down kill switches, closing a cover, or some other manual method of ensuring hands are away from tools! It sees a hand, and deactivates the machinery - no other intervention needed!
