I'm Vito Traversa and I’m developing NEMA SmartCare, an advanced AI-powered health and safety monitoring system. It uses the Axelera AI edge platform to detect critical events, analyze patient posture and movement, monitor physiological parameters, and provide real-time support for home care, elderly care, and assisted living.
This project matters because it aims to prevent accidents, support independent living, and bring accessible AI assistance into real environments.
I will start by integrating the Axelera DevKit with our wearable sensors and the NEMA AI assistant, building the full pipeline from data acquisition to edge inference.

Excellent project. I recently had a family member who would benefit hugely from this kind of in-home monitoring, rather than being stuck in hospital just so medical staff could keep an eye on them, which is bad for the patient and a huge use of hospital resources.
What kind of wearables are you planning to implement? And I’d love to know more about the work you’ve already done on NEMA AI,
